Gratitude is the gift that keeps on giving. When you can be grateful, you can harness the power of positivity in your life. There are hundreds of things to be grateful for in life. Simply being alive is one of them. We forget how lucky we are when we focus on the things we don’t have. When we focus on what we do have, life is much more beautiful. We see things differently, we can jump for joy at the little things.
So today, I am grateful for a sunrise with a sky full of pink and blue, spring blooms on the plants, the new mint that is growing in the garden, the fact that I finally know how to use Instagram (kind of). I am grateful for the people I love, for friends old and new, for family, and for a life partner that I can share each moment with. I’m grateful for that silly old spider that lives in the porch and keeps spinning new webs despite the fact that they get knocked down daily. I’m grateful for my health, for the birds that are singing and crows that are cawing.
If I start out each morning listing what I am grateful for, I find that I can keep up my attitude of gratitude throughout the day. By simply being aware of the gifts life gives no matter how big or small, I can feel my spirits rise. If I need more validation, I can always refer to quotes about gratitude that provide inspiration.
A simple reminder each day to be grateful is one of the easiest steps to happiness I have found.
